The new Recommendations Bar makes it easier to Like web pages
Today, Facebook launched a new feature called the Recommendations Bar that adds a pop-up box to any site that decides to use it. While you already see the Like button on many websites, including Tecca, the Recommendations Bar makes the Like button for?each post even more visible. Plus, it shows you what your friends have been reading on the site.
In a blog post on the social network, Facebook software engineer Jeffrey Spehar writes:?"Recommendations are based on content that friends have explicitly liked and shared in your app or website." For instance, Mashable's Recommendations Bar tells me that my friends watched a Gotye parody video on the site.
The bar starts out as a tiny Like button when you load the page and won't expand to the size of a standard pop-up unless you click it. But if it still feels obtrusive, simply click the tiny square at the top right of the box to get rid of it.
